Our Beliefs

“Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures, and said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.”  Luke 24:45-47 KJV

We believe in the Triune God: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.  We preach and teach from the King James Bible, which we believe to be an accurate translation from the original languages.

We believe the Holy Bible is the inerrant word of God, which brings faith to man so that he can be saved.

We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, who became flesh to redeem mankind from his sins.  There is salvation in no other, for there is no other name by which we can be saved.

We believe that man is saved by grace, through faith, which is a free gift from God, and that God calls us to lead holy lives, for we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works.

We recognize as true, the Christian Doctrine, based on the Old and New Testaments of the Holy Bible, the Lutheran Doctrine, the Book of Concord, and the three ecumenical symbols: the Apostolic, the Nicene, and the Athanasian Creeds as well as the Augsburg Confession, which are in agreement with the Holy Bible and uphold the confession of true faith and love as the greatest law.

Our History

The Apostolic Lutheran Church of Greer is a member of the Apostolic Lutheran Church of America.  We are an international Federation of Lutheran Congregations, joined together by the common hope found in Christ Jesus, our Savior and Lord.

Our roots are in Finland and Sweden and our ancestors came to America with the immigrants in the late 1800’s and settled in various parts of the United States, mainly the states of Washington, Minnesota, Michigan, and New Hampshire.

The congregation met in homes until a gathering place was secured in Taylors.  Then in 1993, the property on North Rutherford Road was purchased and the church building was established.

Our Mission

Our Mission is to teach and preach God’s Word as revealed through God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit and to fulfill the great commission that Jesus gave:  Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:  teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.  Matthew 28:19-20
